Vampire Survivors developer Poncle has announced the launch of a new publishing arm. The announcement was made at Game Republic’s Pitching to Investors and Publishers event in Liverpool. The new publishing division aims to support indie developers in creating their own games.

Poncle emphasized that they do not want to operate as a traditional publisher or take ownership of intellectual property. Instead, the company will function more like a label or fund.

They will provide funding, platform support, localization, quality assurance, release management, and development advice to projects developed with “sincerity, passion, and depth.”

Poncle’s publishing arm will also offer marketing support to help indie developers release highly “replayable, affordable, and fun” games. The team expressed their enthusiasm, stating, “We want to sign everything!” However, they acknowledged their current size limitations, adding, “But we’re very smol!”

The company also shared their “insta-nos,” which include any games that are too similar to Vampire Survivors, anything related to AI or Web3, and free-to-play mobile games. In a separate announcement, Poncle revealed that they have greenlit an animated TV show based on Vampire Survivors.

The company will collaborate with entertainment firm Story Kitchen, which is overseen by Dmitri Johnson, co-producer of the Sonic the Hedgehog movie, John Wick creator Derek Kolstad, and Mike Goldberg. This move by Poncle follows a similar initiative by Innersloth, the studio behind Among Us, which created its own indie game development fund called “Outersloth” to support unique indie projects.
