New gameplay trailer for Mouse: P.I. For Hire

Mouse Gameplay

Fumi Games has released a new gameplay trailer for their upcoming first-person shooter game, “Mouse: P.I. For Hire.” The game features a unique art style inspired by classic rubber hose cartoons from the 1930s, such as “Steamboat Willie.”

In “Mouse: P.I. For Hire,” players take on the role of a private detective in a noir city setting, battling against gangs and villains. The game’s graphics transport players back to the era of black-and-white animation, while incorporating modern FPS mechanics. The new trailer showcases several improvements since the game’s initial teaser in May 2023, including an enhanced soundtrack, an underwater scene, and redesigned weapons.

The guns in the game exhibit a wobbling effect that matches the protagonist’s movements, adding to the authenticity of the rubber hose animation style. Fumi Games’ Founder and CEO Mateusz Michalak and Lead Producer Maciej Krzemień discussed the game in an exclusive interview several months ago.

New trailer showcases modern retro FPS

They shared insights on their choice of Unity as the game engine, the unique art style, and their views on violence in video games. “Mouse: P.I. For Hire” is set to launch in 2025, and interested gamers can add the game to their wishlist on Steam for notifications about its release. The game is being developed by Poland-based Fumi Games and published by an Australian company.

While only a PC version has been announced so far, it is possible that the game may eventually be released on consoles as well. As the game continues to gain attention, it has the potential to become a popular hit among fans of both retro animation and modern first-person shooters.
