logitech g unveils new sim racing wheels

Sim Racing

Logitech has unveiled a new line of racing wheels and accessories called the Logitech G RS series. This new lineup is designed to offer more options and customization for sim racing enthusiasts. The centerpiece of the new products is the RS Wheel Hub.

It features a dedicated array of buttons and a quick release mechanism. The hub is compatible with all existing and future Logitech G Direct Drive bases. Choosing an Xbox-compatible hub and pairing it with a PlayStation-compatible DD base allows for full platform compatibility across both consoles and PC.

Logitech is also offering two in-house wheel options for the RS Wheel Hub: the RS Round and Track Wheels. Both feature similar constructions with a low-carbon aluminum faceplate and synthetic leather rim. The Round wheel is more suited for GT driving, while the Track wheel resembles a formula-style wheel.

Two premium wheels, the GT 320 and GT-Racer 290, are also being introduced. The GT-Racer 290 is a formula-style wheel, while the GT 320 is slightly larger at 320mm. Both feature a black anodized aluminum plate and a synthetic microfiber-wrapped rim.

They are expected to retail for $199 each starting January 2025.

The RS QR Adapter, included with the RS Wheel Hub but also available separately, allows users to attach any compatible wheel to a G Pro Direct Drive wheelbase.

It supports various bolt patterns but does not provide compatibility with electronic buttons unless the wheel rim connects to the PC separately. Rounding out the Racing Series is the RS Shifter & Handbrake. This two-in-one add-on can function as either a sequential shifter or a handbrake.

It includes a table mount and offers adjustable positions and handle height. Users can tweak the response curve and sensitivity through Logitech’s G Hub software. It is also compatible with older Logitech wheels such as the G923.

Logitech has partnered with Momo, the iconic Italian motorsports brand, to create the high-end SIM GT 320 and SIM GT-Racer 290 wheels. These premium wheels, available in January 2025, are designed for serious racers seeking top-notch quality. The new Racing Series gear brings needed improvements to sim racing, offering new wheels, accessories, and enhanced customization.

With multi-platform support and a range of new products on the horizon, Logitech is set to solidify its place in the sim racing market. Pre-orders for the new Logitech G RS series are available now, with shipping starting on October 13, 2024. Players on both PC and console can look forward to exploring these new hardware options to enhance their racing simulation experience.
