Watch Unboxing

A live unboxing video of Huawei’s upcoming Watch GT 5 has leaked online ahead of its official release. The 40-second clip, circulating on Chinese video platforms, reveals the smartwatch’s complete design and new upgrades. The Watch GT 5 features a wide blue silicon strap in a woven pattern, offering a sporty feel.

It showcases a thick bezel around its dial and comes in silver, white, and graphite black colors, presenting a bold look. The watch has a silver crown with stripes on the right side and a feature button below, used to operate certain tasks or perform health-related activities. It is expected to manage the advanced TruSense system.

The octagonal casing is made of shiny metal with smooth, tough edges to withstand external damage. The back panel uses ultra-light glass technology to improve signal quality while keeping the device lightweight. The Watch GT 5 series will be available in 46mm and 42/41mm sizes.

It may come pre-installed with new software, bringing several new features. Huawei is set to launch the Watch GT 5 along with two more smartwatches and tablets in Barcelona. Leaks suggest the company might also introduce these products to Chinese consumers later this month, although not officially confirmed.

The Huawei Watch GT 5 continues the brand’s established design with an octagonal body and circular graduated bezel.

Huawei’s new Watch GT 5 features

This generation introduces 46mm and 42mm size options, with the smaller version being 1mm wider than the previous 41mm model.

The OLED display dimensions remain 1.43 inches and 1.32 inches for the larger and smaller models. A notable upgrade is the new sensor suite, including heart rate tracking, SpO2, respiratory rate, blood pressure, and body temperature measurements. Huawei claims improved algorithms for more accurate health data.

The Watch GT 5 will introduce Huawei’s TruSense system, a 12-channel sensor technology with a new glass back to block ambient light interference for more reliable readings. The official launch event on September 19 will showcase the Huawei Watch GT 5 and announce a new Huawei MatePad with a Tandem OLED PaperMatte display, expected to be the MatePad Pro 12.2.

Official renders and key specifications of the Huawei Watch GT 5 have surfaced online ahead of its September 19 unveiling. The watch will be available in 41mm and 46mm sizes, retaining design elements like a rotating crown and programmable button.

The 41mm model comes in Jana Blue and Jana Gold, while the 46mm variant is exclusively in black. They feature a metal bezel, stainless steel case, and 5 ATM water resistance. The 41mm model has a 1.32-inch AMOLED screen, and the 46mm version has a 1.43-inch AMOLED display.

Battery life is a highlight, with the 41mm model lasting up to 7 days and the 46mm variant up to 14 days on a single charge. The Watch GT 5 introduces an updated TruSense health monitoring system for more precise measurements and a Health Glance feature for quick health analyses. It supports over 100 sport modes and has built-in navigation capabilities.

The new Huawei Watch GT 5 is expected to be priced around 250 euros, positioning it competitively in the smartwatch market.
