Charter launches new Spectrum internet plan

Spectrum Plan

Spectrum, the brand under cable giant Charter Communications, is rolling out new pricing plans and customer service initiatives to prove its commitment to reliability amidst significant shifts in its broadband, TV, and mobile businesses. CEO Chris Winfrey wants customers to associate Spectrum with reliability and credibility. “It is hard to be loved when you’re providing a critical service to the household that’s a physical infrastructure that charges over $100 a month,” Winfrey said.

He emphasized that Spectrum’s new offerings aim to deliver unique value. New bundles and pricing options start as low as $30 a month for a 500Mbps internet plan or $40 a month for 1GB service when bundled with mobile or cable TV services. Charter is also increasing internet speeds for existing customers at no additional cost and providing pricing guarantees up to three years, with no annual contracts or hidden fees.

New Spectrum pricing and service initiatives

Spectrum will grant credits to customers for service outages longer than two hours if the issue is on their part. The company’s new “Life Unlimited” campaign aims to reshape customer perceptions by highlighting its commitment to providing better service.

Winfrey assumed leadership during a period when growth within the cable TV bundle was no longer expected. He started strong, announcing a $5.5 billion capital investment over three years aimed at enhancing the broadband infrastructure network during an investor day in December 2022. Despite challenges, Charter has seen significant growth in its mobile division.

Spectrum Mobile, which launched in 2018, has accrued 8.8 million total lines, spurred by attractive promotional deals and increased mobile usage on reliable Wi-Fi networks. As Charter continues to innovate and adapt to market demands, these changes mark a major effort to rebuild customer trust and establish themselves as a reliable, customer-focused service provider.
