Microsoft has unveiled the next batch of Game Pass additions for August 2024 and beyond. Most notably, Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass subscribers will be able to download the Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 beta on August 30. Players can experiment with the new Omnimovement mechanic, as well as maps and weapons.

Additionally, Atlas Fallen and Core Keeper will be added to Game Pass on August 22 and 27, respectively, for Series X|S, PC, and cloud. Atlas Fallen, an open-world RPG developed by Deck13, was released last year and recently received the Reign of Sand update, which added an extra difficulty mode and New Game+. Core Keeper is a sandbox game where players can mine, craft, and farm in procedurally generated worlds, with up to eight players exploring the mines together in co-op.

Star Trucker, which launches on September 3, will also be available on Game Pass on launch day. It’s a game where players can go on a space road trip by taking their big rig truck and delivering salvage. These additions highlight the diverse offerings coming to Game Pass, giving subscribers a range of new experiences to explore.

Prepare for Call of Duty: NEXT on August 28!

An unredacted and tactical take on the recently revealed Campaign footage from the explosive “Most Wanted” mission. Additional details on Call of Duty: NEXT on August 28 and the latest communications on the Black Ops 6 Multiplayer Beta. Welcome to the “Most Wanted” mission, a clandestine, signature Call of Duty®: Black Ops infiltration with high stakes and even higher rewards: the retrieval and rescue of the notorious and legendary wildcard operative Russell Adler from a CIA Black Site hidden below the Capitol Station in Washington, D.C.

Playing the role of a key member of the Black Ops team led by Frank Woods, your cohorts on the ground include Woods’ protégé Troy Marshall, technical guru Felix Neumann, and Sevati “Sev” Dumas, an infiltration and assassination specialist.

As the action begins, Troy and Felix commandeer a S.W.A.T. truck parked on the edge of the Capitol Station grounds. Felix confirms that a new gadget – a camera with retinal scanning capabilities – is operational for its first field test. Marshall sums up the mission succinctly: Attend a political fundraiser, obtain retinal identification from Senator McKenna, and rescue Adler from the Black Site before anyone knows what’s happening.

Though the fundraising event is winding down, Senator McKenna is still socializing. Your camera allows you to zoom in on him, but not close enough for the required retinal scan. Sev infiltrates the fundraiser disguised as a business tycoon’s wife and briefs that the senator isn’t giving interviews, doesn’t go anywhere without his security detail, but has marked three potential leads to get you close enough for the scan.

With one of the objectives completed and a high-resolution picture of the senator obtained, Felix works his technical magic. He modifies the infrared image to highlight the capillaries in the senator’s retina, fooling the security scan lock that leads to the CIA Black Site. The lock is breached, but Marshall realizes the Black Site is compromised by another violent assault: Pantheon.

The mission allows tactical flexibility – choosing to go “weapons hot” or “silent running.” With customizable weapons and armaments, tactical choices are key. As you progress through the Black Site, neutralizing Pantheon targets, you reach Adler, who is holding a hostage.

With Adler now in your possession, hostile forces ramp up topside. After continuous hostilities, you engage in fierce combat. Omnimovement capabilities allow sprinting, sliding, and diving in any direction, enhancing combat maneuvers.

Defeating a heavily armored juggernaut involves creative use of the RCXD, remote-controlled to detonate behind the enemy. Ascending through the elevator shaft, an enemy detonation snaps the cables, leading to a chaotic freefall. Through sheer strength, you grab onto a railing and save Adler.

Marshall’s response to Adler’s comment on a plan B hints at an anticipated climax. The action returns to the banquet hall, where Pantheon troops aim to obstruct your escape. Utilizing tactical equipment like the Disruptor and Homing Knife, you incapacitate enemies and conserve ammunition.

As cops surround the building and more Pantheon forces converge, your escape strategy turns creative. Spotting dirt bikes, Marshall devises a thrilling escape plan. Stay tuned for more details as the Black Ops 6 saga continues.

Three major titles are set to leave Xbox Game Pass at the end of August. The games include NBA 2K24 for both Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S, Atomic Heart, and Guilty Gear Strive. Players have until August 31 to enjoy these games before they are removed from the library.

NBA 2K24’s departure comes ahead of the launch of NBA 2K25, which is set to release on September 6. Although the new installment will not be available on Game Pass at launch, fans can look forward to the latest edition of the popular basketball series. Atomic Heart, a first-person shooter set in the Soviet Union, draws strong influences from BioShock Infinite.

Despite some criticisms about its narrative, the game’s unique setting and gameplay have garnered a dedicated following. Guilty Gear Strive, known for its vibrant fighting game community, has been a staple in the Game Pass library since its release in 2021. The game continues to thrive, and a new guest character is expected to join the roster in 2025.

Subscribers can purchase these games at a 20% discount before they are removed from the service. NBA 2K24, Atomic Heart, and Guilty Gear Strive will no longer be available on Game Pass for console, PC, and cloud after August 31.
