watchOS fixes

Apple has released watchOS 10.6, the latest update for Apple Watch users. This update focuses primarily on bug fixes and security improvements. Unlike previous software updates, watchOS 10.6 does not introduce significant new features.

Apple has not provided detailed information about the specific bugs addressed or security enhancements included in this release. watchOS 10.6 may be the last major update for older Apple Watch models, including the Apple Watch Series 4, Series 5, and the first-generation Apple Watch SE. These devices are not expected to receive the upcoming watchOS 11 update.

The previous update, watchOS 10.5, also did not bring substantial changes, instead introducing a new Pride watch face.

Apple updates: watchOS 10.6 improvements

This watch face features bold, symbolic colors to show support for LGBTQ+ communities.

Earlier updates, such as watchOS 10.4, introduced new emojis and improvements to Siri. The update also included a tweak for Apple Vision Pro users, allowing them to turn on the Ignore Double Tap setting for an enhanced user experience. To install watchOS 10.6, users can download the update for free via the Apple Watch app by navigating to General > Software Update.

The Apple Watch must have at least 50% battery life and be placed on its charger during the installation process. Although no new functionalities are included, the update is recommended for all Apple Watch users running watchOS 10 to ensure their devices have the latest bug fixes and security improvements. Alongside watchOS 10.6, Apple has also released updates for its other devices, including iOS 17.6, iPadOS 17.6, macOS 14.6, tvOS 17.6, and visionOS 1.3.
