iOS 18

Apple released iOS 18 on Monday, bringing a host of new features to iPhones. The update includes enhanced widgets that display live data, making the home screen more interactive and informative.

Notifications have also been revamped, allowing users to take action directly from the notification banner, such as replying to messages or controlling smart home devices.

Multitasking has been improved, with more efficient use of Split View and Slide Over and a smoother experience when switching between apps. The Control Center is now fully customizable, enabling users to tailor their shortcuts and controls to their preferences. ARKit 5 introduces more immersive augmented reality experiences, with better object recognition and improved stability.

iOS 18 new multitasking capabilities

Siri has become smarter, providing personalized suggestions based on usage patterns and habits. The App Library has been redesigned for better organization and easier access to apps.

A new Focus Mode feature helps minimize distractions by filtering notifications based on the user’s current activity, such as work, personal time, or sleep. iOS 18 also places a significant emphasis on privacy with features like Mail Privacy Protection, which hides the user’s IP address and location when opening emails. Live Text allows interaction with text in photos or live camera view, enabling copying, pasting, looking up, or translating text directly from images.

Facetime has received upgrades, including spatial audio, portrait mode, and the ability to invite Android and Windows users to join calls via web links. These new features, along with performance improvements and bug fixes, make iOS 18 a significant update for iPhone users.
