Cohesity Data Cloud enhances AI-powered security

AI Security

Cohesity, a data management provider, has announced new enhancements to its AI-powered data security management platform. The additions to the Cohesity Data Cloud aim to improve generative AI detection and recovery capabilities for customers. The release addresses organizations’ lack of cybersecurity expertise by providing comprehensive data security, management, and recovery solutions.

These simplify the process of identifying threats, mitigating issues, and recovering quickly from incidents. The new capabilities include enhanced threat detection, a cyber recovery assistant tool, and a clean-room design environment. Customers can use a “guided incident response wizard” to move from alert to recovery more confidently.

The AI-powered cyber recovery assistant tool simplifies incident response by providing expert guidance. Customers can receive alerts on anomalous behaviors, assess the impact, and get directions for investigation and remediation within the wizard.

Enhancing data security with AI

The clean room design offers a trusted foundation that speeds incident recovery and supports security operations teams’ investigations. It minimizes secondary attack risks by isolating breaches within minutes. The threat-hunting feature, coupled with rapid system snapshots, enables real-time understanding of adversary techniques and forensic analysis.

This allows teams to mitigate threats swiftly and restore normal business operations promptly. Cohesity is a venture capital-backed company, having last raised $150 million in late-stage funding from IBM Corp. and Nvidia Corp.

Kit Beall, chief revenue officer, and Chris Klosterman, alliances field chief technology officer, discussed how Cohesity integrates AI into data security. They emphasized the significant costs of inaction during an attack.
